NewSouth Technologies is in search of a Business Analyst to support our client in Tallahassee, FL. The role can be FULLY REMOTE, however the contractor could be potentially called back into the office upon the Manager's request.

***The hourly rate for this role is about $33HR-$35HR depending on the ideal candidate's background and experience.***

***This role is primarily for Entry-Level/Junior Business Analysts with about 1-2+ years of professional experience.***

Position Overview:

NewSouth Technologies is seeking a qualified Business Analyst to support the development and enhancement of the Health Management System (HMS), an Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform. The Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, development teams, and subject matter experts to elicit requirements, validate software functionality, and improve workflows for enhanced healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate business requirements gathering sessions with SMEs and document discussions, definitions, and decisions.

  • Validate business requirements against business processes to ensure alignment with user needs.

  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to verify developed software against business and technical requirements.

  • Identify and document workflow improvement opportunities based on testing results and user feedback.

  • Prepare end-user documentation including help screens, process flows, and release notes.

  • Evaluate development team progress and provide productivity insights to project management.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for functional areas of the software.

  • Document application change requests and develop functional specifications and test plans.

  • Coordinate UAT, ensuring resource assignment aligns with skill sets and testing priorities.

  • Complete required training and maintain compliance with Department data security policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience performing business analysis on an Agile software development team.

  • 1+ year facilitating Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions.

  • 1+ year eliciting, documenting, and validating user requirements.

  • 1+ year conducting software testing, including test case development and defect tracking.

  • 1+ year producing technical documentation (e.g., requirements traceability, process flows, data flow diagrams).

  • 1+ year experience with application development (preferably on a certified EHR product).

  • 1+ year experience or education with HL7 standards (including ADT and CCDA).

  • 1+ year experience with databases and writing SQL queries for ad-hoc reporting.
