About the Role

As a Data Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with experienced data engineers to design, build, and maintain data infrastructure and pipelines that enable efficient data processing and analysis. This role will give you exposure to cutting-edge tools and technologies while helping you build a strong foundation in data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines to process large volumes of data.
• Work with databases, data warehouses, and data lakes to structure and store data effectively.
• Clean, transform, and preprocess raw data to ensure it is ready for analysis.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data needs and support their work with data infrastructure.
• Implement data quality checks to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data.
• Assist in optimizing existing data workflows to improve efficiency and performance.
• Work with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure to manage data storage and processing.
• Support the automation of data collection and processing tasks.
• Conduct research on the latest data engineering tools and technologies and suggest improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and pipeline development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with data storage solutions such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data lakes.
• Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is a plus.
• Understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
