Estimator - Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers Requisition ID: 175729 Job Level: Mid Level Home District/Group: 1Estimating Infrastructure Department: Estimating Market: Transportation Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview As an Estimator, you will prepare, review and present discipline estimates for specific project proposal activities. In this role, you will provide estimating assistance and guidance to projects, develop conceptual estimates and perform cost analysis. You will be responsible for assisting in the development of discipline/service estimators, developing and updating historical databases, and assisting in the development of department procedures. You will provide direction to others on project/program level tasks. District Overview Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. Location This position is based out of our Lone Tree, CO offices. Responsibilities Develop complete estimates for large, complex jobs. Collaborate with permanent design and construction engineering disciplines, in-house and Third Party. Review plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project; develop a plan for the actual construction to serve as the basis for the estimate. Review all bid and contract documents and home office views. Conduct site investigations prior to forming a plan of operations to identify any problems or conditions of an unusual nature that may be present. Utilize engineering techniques and procedures to conduct investigations and adhere to standard company policy and procedures. Perform design work as required by the project that is beyond the estimator scope of experience; handle any major technical problems encountered during bid preparation. Stay abreast of trends and developments, such as new equipment, methods and procedures that are developing in the industry. Prepare special engineering studies or reports required by certain bid items or conditions. Prepare and manage subcontract and material supplier solicitations. Consult with clients on various challenges discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, schedules, etc. Qualifications Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred. Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling, cost control, specifications, and engineering drawings. 5+ years of construction/engineering experience, specifically with heavy civil infrastructure projects. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with InEight Estimate (HardDollar) highly desirable. Experience with CADD and 3D Modeling software. Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Must be able to meet deadlines. Effective oral and written communication skills. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic. Work independently as well as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies. Knowledge of construction methods, costs and techniques. Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements. Must be willing to travel as the job requires. Other Requirements Regular, reliable attendance. Base Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location) This posting will be active from: 03/11/2025 - 06/28/2025.
