Tram Ticket Checkers are responsible for greeting on-mountain guests, acting as a source for mountain information, and providing on-mountain ticket and line management. This position will spend their full shift outdoors on the mountain at the newly built Tram. Flexibility, excellent guest service skills, ability to work enthusiastically in a team setting, and enjoyment of the outdoors and the mountain environment are a must. We want you to be able to ride daily so that you can share your firsthand knowledge of Tram accessed terrain and enthusiasm for Big Sky with our guests. The ability to ski/ride at a high level is a must. All other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

If you are excited about skiing or riding every day and sharing your knowledge/enthusiasm of expert mountain terrain with guests, then this is a great opportunity for you.

Tram Ticket Checkers will be in continuous contact with guests, employees, and the Mountain Operations team including: Lift operations, Ski Patrol, and Lift Maintenance throughout their workday. The Mountain Services team works directly or indirectly with all other departments and divisions at the resort.

Tram Ticket Checkers will be located at the Trams top and bottom stations. The Ticket Checkers there will have a supervisor and lead that will oversee all daily operations and team functions at the Tram. If Ticket Checkers are stationed at the top of the Tram, they will be working independently and will be required to check in periodically with their supervisor or lead.

Tram Ticket Checkers must be able to operate independently and as a team to facilitate the amazing experiences that our guests expect while visiting our resort. They must be able to communicate effectively with each other, throughout the Mountain Services division, as well as to the general public to provide efficient access to the mountain. Tram Ticket Checkers are a part of the Outside Operations department within the Mountain Services division. The Mountain Services division works directly or indirectly with all other departments and divisions throughout the resort.

Tram Ticket Checkers will spend extensive amounts of time in the outdoor environment. Temperatures in the high alpine mountains of Montana can be quite cold and windy. Our team will need to be outside even in inclement weather.

Tram Ticket Checkers will be working four 10-hour days and will be present on the mountain early in the morning and late into the ski day.

There are high expectations for Tram Ticket Checkers. To be successful in this position, a Ticket Checker must possess a high level of ticketing, mountain terrain, and general resort knowledge. The ability to problem solve, be proactive, and be reliable day in and day out is a must. A week of paid training at the beginning of employment will provide much of that information, but spending time off at the resort and the surrounding area is necessary to gain additional knowledge.
