Position Description

Reporting to the Department Manager, the Supervisor Warehouse is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warehouse operations including the shipping and receiving of product. The Warehouse Supervisor ensures that the customer’s needs are met through the timely and efficient movement of products and materials in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Shift: 2nd, 3pm - 11:30pm
Salary range: $72k - $75k (may vary based on relevant experience)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Adhere to and ensure compliance to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and adhere to the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance to food quality and food safety guidelines per Refresco, Customer and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF) standards.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees.
  • Have some authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
  • Establishes priorities and directs loading workforce to satisfy customer demands.
  • Plan and executes logistic needs with trucking firms to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of shipments, while minimizing freight cost.
  • Implements and enforces processes aimed at creating maximum inventory consistency and accuracy.
  • Reviews and resolves operational problems to minimize cost and prevent operational delays.
  • Manages the assigned business metrics/ budgets including yield, labor efficiency, and overhead expenses.
  • Demonstrates leadership to warehouse employees to ensure consistent quality of work.
  • Maintains effective communication of expectations and goals throughout the Warehouse environment.
  • Ensure compliance to all OHSA and environmental regulatory and corporate standards. Investigate and identify root causes of any non-compliance.
  • Accountable for a safe working environment through the development of strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization.
  • Oversee effective deployment of human resources throughout the department and ensure the correct administration of the collective Bargaining Agreement, when applicable.
  • Be a certified forklift trainer.
  • Back up to Department Manager responsibilities.
  • Represents the company in a positive manner at all times.  

Requirements

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum: High School Certification or equivalent (GED), undergraduate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 5 years + work experience in a manufacturing environment, food/beverage manufacturing is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Capability to read and write job instructions in the specified acceptable language(s) for the location.
  • Able to work under deadline pressures.
  • Organized and detail oriented, adaptable to change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Must demonstrate the basic operation of powered industrial trucks.
  • Must be forklift certified by an approved Refresco trainer.

Position-Specific Skills:

  • SAP or other supply chain software experience required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, & Outlook) with the ability to learn new applications as required.
  • Initiative, the ability to work independently, strong customer service orientation, strong written and verbal skills and flexibility, vision and creativity.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in an organized, detailed manner, given limited time frames.

Competencies:

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Technology: Familiarity with warehouse management software for tracking inventory and logistics.
  • Technology: Proficient in SAP, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Cognitive: Ability to analyze data and process parameters to optimize production.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Participation in safety audits and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Proven Leadership and ability to develop employees.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evenings, overnight and holidays may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise level requires hearing protection, and temperatures can get very hot / and or relatively cold. The environment is structured and supervised.

Physical Demands:

  • Physical - Continuously standing or walking.
  • Visual/Sensory - This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
  • Work Environment - Work and environment are very repetitive.
  • Climate - This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to work in ambient hot and/or cold seasonal environments.
